Barnes joins Akron Dental Clinic
Angie Barnes, left new dental hygienist and on the right, Dr. Heather Wright.
Heather Wright is the dentist and her newest dental hygienist is Angie Barnes, who began December 11, 2017. Barnes has over 30 years of experience as a dental hygienist.
“We came to northeast Colorado because of my husband’s job and Akron reminds me of my home town, Eads. I also grew up in an agricultural setting and I really enjoy it here,” Barnes said.
“My job as a dental hygienist is to coach and encourage our patients to maintain a healthy smile for life. Eighty percent of the management to maintain teeth is done at home. My job is to help educate them on how to keep that smile healthy with what they do at home,” she added.
The skills that Barnes has include cleaning teeth, deep cleaning teeth, teeth whitening and bite splints. Bite splints are like a mouthguard, used to protect against injuries to the teeth. According to Dr. Wright, Barnes is compassionate and kind and motivated to help people.
